Creative, autonomous, versatile, passionate

Sophie Mann - Graphic Designer

How difficult it is to talk about yourself!

I was born in the early 1970s. Self-taught (or almost), I began my professional career at the age of 18 after obtaining a Certificate of Aptitude for Artistic Crafts from the Paul Brousse School of Plastic and Graphic Arts. A mother of three, I lived part of my life in Paris and the other in Senegal, a country that adopted me and became my third homeland (after France and Spain).

In 25 years in the profession, I've seen a tremendous amount of evolution in graphic design techniques and tools. From traditional mock-ups (with a cutter and glue gun) to the early days of computers and desktop publishing (DTP), from photoengraving to digital technology, from computer graphics to web design and programming. How lucky to live in this era of technological revolution, such as the advent of the World Wide Web, and now that of artificial intelligence (A.I.) and quantum processors!

I have worked in many branches of communications, including trade and consumer press, advertising, publishing, printing, direct marketing, packaging, events, digital communications, and web design.

I have worked in various sectors, including education, automotive, literature, health and medicine, agri-food, gaming, NGOs, athletics, music, visual arts, and more.

I could tell you I'm exceptional. I could even ask a machine to write my glowing biography... but that wouldn't be accurate.

Here are some recommendations from my clients or employers, which I hope will better describe my skills.

Recommendation - Rayanna Tall

Sophie Mann, who was taking on her first position in an educational institution, quickly enabled the Sainte Jeanne d'Arc Institution to significantly evolve its communications, both internally and externally:

A new website, with a comprehensive review of its structure and content, was developed with the utmost care and attention to research into the institution's history, supported by period photographs. The website has become a valuable communication tool for members of the educational community, as well as for prospective parents and teachers abroad looking for a school. It includes comprehensive, regularly updated information, illustrations, videos, and more.

Managed social media (Facebook, Instagram), in collaboration with the educational teams, to share the school's latest news.

Developed a complete graphic charter, consistent with that of the AEFE (French Association for the Advancement of Teachers), including document templates.

Developed signage within and outside the school, including the creation of an arch above the gate bearing the school's name.

Created the graphic design for the annual career fair, co-organized with the Jean Mermoz school, the Cours Sainte Marie de Hann school, and the French Embassy (flyers, leaflets, fair maps, banners, signage, etc.).

Funded a reporters' club, welcoming middle school students, with, for example, television newscasts produced by the students. Students

Reviewing student outfits, redesigning models and adding new ones.

This list is far from exhaustive.

Sophie Mann demonstrates great qualities and skills, through her creativity, her ability to propose and write content herself, and her ability to take charge of all aspects of communication: project design, structure, content, and technical implementation. The website, for example, is designed and maintained by herself, without external service providers, and all graphic design is also done by herself.

Furthermore, she has always invested herself seriously, I would even say passionately, in her work, which is of an excellent standard, carried out exceptionally well and with a great deal of autonomy.

Recommendation - Emmanuel Bocquet

Sophie is a seasoned professional, capable of working across the entire communications spectrum: editorial, strategy, graphic design, and coordination. Her mastery of the web and her autonomy have allowed her to hold a wide range of positions, ranging from Creative Director to Communications Manager; and to transform Cdiscount Senegal into a brand synonymous with quality—with a name like that, it was no easy feat!

Mensonge - MamJ RasSoul

I met Sophie in 2010 in Nianing. She started by helping me with the big Charrette tour, then in 2012 she accompanied me on my album "Axirou Zaman" (The End of Time), then on the next one "Letter from the Continent," and in 2024, she was the one who provided the cover for my latest album, "Mensonge."
Along with the entire team I work with (Khidma Entertainment), we are truly satisfied with her work, her dynamism, and her pragmatism. A huge respect to you, who also has your son collaborate (illustration for the Mensonge album).
